A formal dinner party was held on a London Underground train by six hungry gourmands. They boarded a carriage on the Bakerloo Line at Kilburn station carrying two cases, one of which unfolded into a table while the other contained food, crockery, cutlery and wine.

The table was meticulously laid and decorated with candles and a vase of flowers before the six diners, attired in dinner suits and formal dresses, sat down to a five-course meal. One of the diners, Melissa Manteghi, 22, from Cricklewood, said: "People's responses were funny. Some tourists seemed to think this is just what happens on the Tube, while Londoners gave off this, 'Don't come near me' look."

Passengers were offered wine and chocolates. "Most people were happy to talk but I think they were worried about taking the food," said Ms Manteghi. Naturally the event was recorded for posterity. You can see the video for yourself here
